The CCC Equine Program is designed to prepare students for careers in the equine industry. Students supplement their classroom learning with extensive hands-on experience as they are involved with the daily management of the college’s 60-acre facility with nearly 50 horses at the CCC Equine Unit. Students gain experience with broodmares and foaling, handling and collecting the farm stallion, and the artificial insemination process. We proudly own numerous finished show horses used in our horsemanship courses and by the CCC Equestrian Team. Young horses born at the CCC Equine Unit are started by students in the Equine Program. Students also learn the basics of equine health, genetics, nutrition, reproduction, training, equine event planning, conformation and judging, equine business, and barn management.
In addition to the required coursework, students have the opportunity to enhance their skills through additional Ag and Equine elective courses.
